Casa 69 B&B

Tucked away on the busy streets of San Jose is the lovely boutique hotel Casa 69. We had the opportunity to stay with them this past summer and our stay was such an enjoyable experience. As someone who lives in a quiet, sleepy beach town in Costa Rica – the massive city of San Jose can be a bit overwhelming. However, once entering the large gate on the street and walking in to Casa 69, we were immediately able to relax in to the peaceful ambiance after a long day of traveling.

The owner, Donna was so warm and friendly and her staff very helpful and accommodating.

Rooms at Casa 69 are $45 per night and continental breakfast (fruit, toast and coffee) is included. They have an additional breakfast menu for those people who are looking for a heartier meal. We had a big day planned so we ordered the delicious Tipical Costa Rican breakfast of eggs and gallo pinto and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the courtyard dining room with the other guests.

Each room has a private bath, mini fridge, TV, safe and a very comfortable mattress. The bed was heavenly, covered with lovely bedding and lots of pillows. We stayed in one of the roof top rooms and there was a lovely sitting area out on the roof where you can look out over the city to see the beautiful mountains that surround San Jose.

The hotel is decorated with bright colors but in a very upscale, classy way. The inside of the hotel is like an open air garden, full of plants with seating areas and fountains, perfect for socializing with the other guests at the hotel.

Location: Casa 69 is located on a small side street off Avenue Centrale which takes you to all downtown locations. It’s a 30 minute ride from the airport. From there, you are in walking distance of museums, shopping, nightlife and many fabulous restaurants.

Casa 69 is one of the best boutique hotels San Jose has to offer. Contact Pura Vida Travel for more information or to make your reservations.
